Nile River Delta
Maynard Art Show: Egypt was a cradle of civilization, back a few thousand years ago. Seeing this image you can imagine why. In the vast Sahara desert, a verdant river carries the water so essential for life. Nomads gather and settle, planting crops, forming communities and learning to work together as a growing society, held together by the glue of the life-giving water. Even now this geographic pattern persists, with the dramatic contrast between the green vegetation of the river and the brown sands of the desert.
