Tana River, Kenya
Maynard Art Show: First let’s appreciate the abstract beauty and color of this image - the grey mountains surrounded by blocks of green, purple, blue and orange. And what are those trapezoidal shapes in the bottom left? Where is there such an amalgamation of color? You may want to Google map this – search on the remarkably named Saline, Utah, on the edge of the Great Salt Lake. The green in the upper left is the algae-filled lake, and the orange and white shapes are evaporation ponds, now being eliminated to protect the natural environment of Bear River Bay. (To match the map, flip it so the grey mountains are on top.)
