WEATHER CHANNEL: A sea breeze develops along the Florida coast as cool ocean air replaces the warm, rising air over the land. Cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds develop as a result, bringing showers to the area. As rising air spreads from the top of the thunderstorm (center), an anvil, or 'incus,' develops. CHANNEL: Clouds (and even possibly a thunderstorm on the west side of the island) build due to onshore flow. As the air is forced to rise over the mountains, water vapor within the air condenses and forms clouds in a process known as 'orographic lift.'
